Park Royal Railbus No M79971 in the yard at Ayr shed, delivered in July 1958 to the LM region at Bedford and used on the Bedford - Hitchin and Bedford - Northampton branches, transferred to the Scottish region in February 1960. Withdrawn in February 1968 the body was grounded in Millerhill yard where it was used as a staff bothy on the east side of the up yard and later as as a C&W messroom and workshop, removed during July 1984. and disposed of by been buried in Patersons Tip, Mount Vernon, Glasgow the same month. A scene at Ayr depot on 10 February 1980 with mainly Class 126s. Two vehicles (SC51036 closest) from set 406 is attached to a normal three-car set. Two the right a Class 126 DMSL and a type 2 loco sandwich a Class 101 DMSL in refurbished livery. Brian Daniels.

Metro Cammell class 101 3 car set 175 stabled inside Ayr depot on 8th April 1981 with a pair of Class 126 sets for company (including DMBS 51036). The GG logo referenced Greater Glasgow Passenger Transport Executive, formed in 1972 and replaced by Strathclyde Passenger Transport Executive (SPTE) in the early '80s. Bruce Galloway.
